Unmade at Financial Times Live

London, UK -4th October:

Unmade will be at this year's Financial Times Live. Our CEO Hal Watts will be speaking on a Panel Discussion: The New Manufacturing Collaborative Ecosystems: Partnering to Unleash Business Value.

Manufacturers are transforming their organisations and supply chains into open, collaborative and digitally connected networks to respond to fast changes in demand, increase service levels and open up integrated approaches to suppliers’ operations. In these flexible manufacturing ecosystems, strategic partners and digital technologies are converging to deliver a cohesive community of services, talent and ideas. What successful collaboration models are emerging and in which key ways are they creating value?  What is new in collaborative design, production systems and distribution? What ecosystems are heavily leveraging third parties and what is the future of the “virtual manufacturer”? How are new technological solutions increasing efficiency, agility and improving customer responses in these partner-centric networks?

The panel includes the following members;

Daria Donati, Director, Business Development and Innovation, GE Healthcare Life Sciences

William F. Feehery, President, DuPont Industrial Biosciences

Ruth Nic Aoidh, Executive Director Commercial and Legal and Company Secretary, McLaren Automotive

Hal Watts, CEO and Co-founder, Unmade

Moderated by:

About Unmade

Unmade is a global fashion software company driving innovation through customisation and delivering an end-to-end digital solution for on-demand production at scale. Unmade is working with some of the most innovative fashion, lifestyle and sportswear brands to foster a new level of customer experience through customisation and direct interaction with the product that is completely implicit to the existing production process.

Unmade was born out of a desire to reimagine both the design and manufacturing processes within the fashion industry, so brands only make what is actually sold, resulting in minimal waste - hence the embrace of customisation.

The result is a customer experience that feels completely unique, seamless within the brand’s existing ecosystem, while generating minimal waste and wholly customized products. Unmade is aiming to transform the fashion ecosystem, beginning with customisation and moving towards tech-enabled and sustainable, on-demand manufacturing.

Headquartered in London, Unmade consists of a diverse team of 30 staffers. Unmade was founded in April 2013 by Hal Watts, Ben Alun-Jones and Kirsty Emery - all of whom met at London’s Royal College of Art. Most recently in November 2017, Unmade raised $4M, led by Felix Capital. Unmade pieces are now part of the permanent collections at both the MoMA in New York and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
